Construction & CDM 2015

Connect Safety Services integrates CDM 2015 compliance into the heart of your project, ensuring every duty holder is protected from concept to completion.

What is CDM 2015?

The Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2015 apply to every construction project in Great Britain, regardless of size or duration. The aim is simple: to reduce risk by ensuring that health and safety is considered from the very first sketch to the final brick.

At Connect, we help you navigate the three core pillars of the regulations:

  • Integration: Making safety a natural part of project management, not a separate hurdle.
  • Collaboration: Ensuring Clients, Designers, and Contractors work in harmony to identify and eliminate risks.
  • Documentation: Managing the flow of vital safety information, from Pre-Construction Information to the final Health & Safety File.

Contact Connect Safety Services today for a bespoke business or project quote, and let our experts ensure your site is CDM 2015 compliant quickly, efficiently, and completely stress-free.

Our Expertise

Why Use Connect for CDM 2015 Compliance?

Managing a construction project is complex enough without the weight of legal liability. Connect Safety Services acts as your professional safety partner, ensuring no detail is overlooked.

Principal Designer Support

We assist the Principal Designer in their duty to plan, manage, and monitor the pre-construction phase, ensuring all designers coordinate their work effectively.

Planning Development

We help Principal Contractors develop robust, site-specific Construction Phase Plans that satisfy both HSE requirements and client expectations.

Risk Management

By identifying potential hazards during the design stage, we help you avoid costly site delays and dangerous accidents before they happen.

Document Control

From F10 Notifications to the final Health & Safety File, we manage the technical paperwork so you can focus on the build.

Your Legal Responsibilities

Under CDM 2015, the law places specific duties on various roles. If these are not met, the HSE can halt work or issue significant fines. We provide tailored support for:

  1. Commercial Clients: Ensuring you make suitable arrangements for managing the project and appointing the right people.
  2. Principal Designers: Helping you coordinate the pre-construction phase and manage health and safety risks.
  3. Principal Contractors: Assisting with site inductions, site security, and the ongoing management of the construction phase.
  4. Designers and Contractors: Even if you aren’t the “Principal” lead, you still have legal duties to ensure unnecessary risks are avoided.

Navigating these roles can be a legal minefield. Connect Safety Services provides a CDM Advisor service where we act as your technical eyes and ears. We review your appointments, audit your Construction Phase Plans, and ensure your Health and Safety File is a comprehensive legal record, not just a folder of loose papers.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. CDM 2015 applies to all construction work, including maintenance and repair. While the requirement to notify the HSE (via an F10 form) depends on project length, the general duties to plan and manage safety apply to every project.

A project is "notifiable" if the construction work is expected to last longer than 30 working days and have more than 20 workers working simultaneously, or exceed 500 person-days. Connect can handle this notification process for you.

This is a vital document prepared by the Principal Designer. It contains information relating to the project which is likely to be needed during any subsequent maintenance, repair, or demolition. We ensure this file is accurate and comprehensive.

Absolutely. Many Clients and Contractors find the regulations complex. We can act as your competent advisor, providing the technical expertise you need to fulfil your legal duties without having to hire in-house specialists.

Failure to comply is a criminal offence. The HSE can issue "Fee for Intervention" (FFI) costs, stop-work notices, or pursue criminal prosecution. More commonly, a lack of CDM compliance will cause project delays and insurance complications.
